I used to see these everywhere and then cash for clunkers came and people scrapped even the decent examples. It’s a shame because I think they are really capable cars for what they are.

They actually imported these here and sold them in Canada for a number of years in the late 80's/early 90's. Skoda didn’t do the importing though, it was done by a private company. Weird, but awesomely true fact!
